Can I use the character mode with XON/XOFF protocol on NT-PCD's?

FAQ #100700

Depending of the PCD type and the used port it's possible to use the XON/XOFF protocol.

Symptom
A SASI (Assign Serial Interface) in mode MC2 (Character mode with Xon/Xoff protocol) fails. The error flag is set after the SASI instruction.

Reason
The XON/XOFF protocol is not supported on this PCD or port.

List of supported ports
PCD3.M5xxx
: the mode MC2 is supported on port 0 (Com/PGU) and also on the PCD3M5340 in RS422 on port 3 (S-Net/MPI).
PCD2.M5xxx: the mode MC2 is supported on port 2.
PCD1.M2xxx: the mode MC2 is not supported.

Remark
Please note that on the PCD2/3.F2xx modules, the XON/XOFF mode is not yet supported (which is not correctly documented in the manual 26/789).
